Concorde' is without a doubt one of the best dessert pears for the UK. It is a fairly new variety, but combines the strengths of two classic varieties. It is a heavy and reliable cropper, with excellent suitability for the UK climate. The fruit is very similar to Conference in appearance, as it is tall and the skin colour is variable, normally a yellow-cream colour but it may sometimes be flushed from exposure to sunlight. Ready to pick from September and lasts till November. This pear is growing on a Quince A rootstock (Semi- Dwarf- the ideal rootstock for bush trees). Self-fertile.
